I Would Like Mine LOADED, Please.
We have many “loaded” options to choose from these days. We have loaded French fries, loaded potato skins, loaded nachos, loaded burgers, and loaded soup. A “loaded” recipe often clues us in to ingredients such as sour cream, cheese, heavy cream, bacon, and other fat-rich components.
When it comes to the word loaded I like to think a little different than the typical loaded reference. I like to think of loading up any meal or snack with as many vegetables as possible. Take this loaded wrap I made for lunch. The wrap contains two slices of turkey and even a couple slices of turkey bacon, but hopefully the brilliant colors shine through for this meal. This wrap is loaded with fresh green leafy veggies, tomato, and cucumber. In total, this wrap is stuffed with at least a cup of fresh vegetables.
Pile on the veggies at mealtime! Serve them warm, cold, on the side and hidden in the main dish. Placing emphasis on vegetables at meal and snack time will support overall health and a healthy waistline.
** Bonus tip – Instead of a layer of fatty mayonnaise in this wrap I made a creamy yogurt spread. I combined plain Greek yogurt with spicy mustard. It makes for a wonderful creamy treat in every bite!
